Tell us a little bit about the piece, including what iOS devices/app you used to bring it to life.
It’s an Electro-Funk track. The drums are done with the Modrum app, the synths and sequencing are done with Nanostudio. The Modrum drums are a great modern take on the classic drummachines and Nanostudio has the best and most full featured synths on the iPad. It’s my favorite app.
Give us a little background on yourself as a musician.
I do a modern electro-funk / acid-electro style. We release it on our own independent label. We keep it simple original and in tune with the times.
Why do you use iOS devices to make music?
I think the best creativity in music software development is found in the app store at the moment. I love the innovative apps often created by independent developers. Besides that the tactile input combined with the flexibility of software and the comfortable working position the iPad provides is the reason the iPad is a great music tool for me.
Give us a quick tip – an idea that has helped you make your iOS music making more productive, fun, inspiring, or creative.
There are a lot of reasons but pointing out a seamingly simple one, is the comfortable sitting position you can achieve with the iPad. The more comfortable and relaxed you are the better the music you make.
